I was taken aback when they wanted to charge me for the 600 mile service. I think the dealers would do better if they threw that service in for free.
I bought the service manual ($108) and the stick coil puller ($2.50) and went on my merry way. I mail ordered an oil filter wrench, and the JVB video (which, by my mistake) is for the earlier one, so I haven't even opened it. I hear his videos are very good. I think the sales guy said $250, but I quit listening as soon as he said they would charge me, and took me back to the service department to make an 'appointment'. I guess I got confused, because 600 miles is about 12 hours of riding. That's like the day after tomorrow... John |

Less than 300.00, the 6k They said would be about the same. They change the rear drive oil and the engine oil basically. Although they said my TB's were out of sync and needed adjusting. I will probably do the rest from now on. Just thought the first I would let them do for warranty sake. The 6k they change oil and adj valves.

I got them to thrown my 600 mile service when I bought my bike.
They made me a final offer and I refused, several days later I called and said if they threw in the 600 mile service I would take it.

I bought the service manual from the dealer. I suspect that you can mail order one from a BMW shop that does that sort of thing. I haven't been buying anything, so maybe someone else can chime in with a good oem parts source...
