Angry GSA- Tweaked forks

Hey inmates, I was riding fire roads in So CA and have been improving my skills. Similar to my learning curve in the sport of skiing, I advanced a bit, pushed myself outside of my comfort zone, and crashed from time to time.

This week, I crashed pretty good (or bad) and realized that, aside from breaking some plastic stuff on the front left (no worries there), I also tweaked my forks and it is evident when I look at the triple clamp / handlebars. Right side is 1/4 to 1/2" off. Too late to be sorry or sad; it happened, I'm fine and will keep plugging.

Has anyone dealt with tweaked forks before? How much wallet pain am I looking at? Are there lower cost options, etc? Everything seems to be working fine- suspension is fine, no strange wear patterns on front tire, no components are loose and the brake system / ABS works fine.

Would really appreciate some insight on what the damage is. I'd also like to know if I'm in danger if I continue to ride "as-is." If you want me to post a pic, I will- just hadn't taken one yet.

Cheers. Thanks in advance for your input, mates.

Try loosening the lower clamp and bouncing the bike up and down a few times, then tightening the clamp to spec. That is sometimes all that is needed. If your fork tubes are bent, it's another story.

Thumbs up tweaked forks

Thanks for the advice, Marc. I didn't know how quite to do that with the forks, but you were exactly right. Took the bike into BMW and they adjust it back to normal is 5 minutes.

Thanks very much! I am a happy man! Gives me even more confidence in the ruggedness of the bike.
