Default New SHAD SH48 topcase on 2009 R1200GSA

Here are some pics of my recent install of a new SHAD SH48 topcase on my 2009 R1200GS.
I used the standard mounting kit sold with the topcase.
I really like the look of the case, more angular and modern than the GIVI V46 or E55. Backrest and stoplight are on their way - will update pics when I get them.
I like the fact you can have the case closed and secured but not locked...

Looks good. I just did the same on my '06. Only problem is I can't get the case to release from the plate. I'll fiddle with it more today.

I must say that I'm pleased with the case however. It looks and feels like a good quality item and should last a good long time.

To release the case it is not enough to turn the key to "release" - you have to then pull on the plate where the cylinder lock sits - towards you (you can only to did with the handle popped out). There is a little resistance at first but then it swings outward and releases the plate. If this is not your problem and you already know this - I apologize - If I remember well the directions were almost nonexistent.

I also just installed the backrest this evening - looks fantastic. I'm more perplexed about installing the light kit - need to explore how to wire to the tail light...
