What are peoples experiences with the Santiago jacket and pants? Thinking about purchasing them but I've been told the quality isn't so good, ie zippers breaking etc.

I bought the Blue and Sand Santiago about 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I commute 4 days a week (70miles round trip) and tons of weekend jaunts. Besides being a little road grimey, I have no complaints. I haven't had any trouble with the zippers or fasteners, they seem to be of a high quality.
I also have the gortex for the jacket and it keeps me 100% dry. (Granted, San Jose, CA does not get a lot of rain) I opted no gortex on the pants, rather I throw on a cheap pair of rain pants and let them get beat up in the winter. Seems to be a good all weather choice: hot, cold, wet. I was originally looking at the Rally 2 Pro but just can't stand the two color options. Next time around in another couple years, I will probably look at the Ralley 2 if they have new colors; mainly due to the fact that it comes with the gortex and has larger crash pads. Good Luck. |

I've had my Santiago jacket and pants (with Goretex liners) for just over a year with no complaints. They are ideal in hot weather (which we found in the south of France but not here in the UK) but need heavy woolens under the jacket for our miserable pretence of summer.
