Talking Cruising speed
After 60k miles on a 1200GS, I find it most responsive (happiest) at 4,000 RPM.
This is most suitable for freeways. It gets best fuel economy between 3,000 and 3,500 which for me is 2 lane blacktops on weekend rides.
