Default More power for 08 GSA

I am determined to buy a 2008 GSA in the next couple of weeks. Is there a power comander available yet? How much power can be gained by removing the cat and modifying the muffler?

Don't know exactly how much hp would increase with cats & muff removed. If you did this, you would also need to have the cpu/fuel inj remapped as the engine would likely lean out w/o normal back pressure.
The hp on the 08's is up to 108 (or there about),...I don't know why you would need more?

One can never have too much power.
Given that this engine is fuel injected with o2 sensors I would think the computer would compensate for the added air flow.

Im with you, its got good power but I for one would like to get moe out of it. You can never have to much. First and second gear wheelies are good but third gear wheelies are better.

I emailed Power Commander and the claim the 2007 unit will work but it needs to be custom mapped and they are looking for a 2008 to test

Default 08 +8hp

I recently installed the Akrapovic full race exhaust system on My 08...legit 8 HP gain right at 4k RPM and up, very impressive. If you don't mind the louder exhaust note...and a beautiful note it is, buy it...you won't be disappointed.

If you wantm ore power you have to get more air in, no point having a fancy pipe to get gasses out fast if you cant get them in in the fist place!

i have a wunderlich big snorkle and fuel controller, a full remus pipe and sum fancy foam filter and it went from 109 to 126 bhp (altho thr runs were 8k apart) and the biggest step up was from the big intake!

Default Running lean

Hi all, ive had 3 gs's but this is my first post on this site!!!

I too am looking for a bump in power as finances dictate that other than a new one!!! I have a K&N Air filter and a wunderluch air charger now and am soon to buy a power commander and full remus system.

If I fit the filter and charger before i do the remap would i (a) make the bike run too lean and do damage and (b) get any difference in power?

Thanks in advance for any help you could offer..

at the rear wheel, i did have the torque curve but the sheet has gone to the new owner, same thing with GS motors with every other motor, you got to get more in and more out and with the air intake snorkle as small as it is its maxed out at about 5500 with the wunderlich snorkle it flow about 100% more air, more in more out
