Default Hepco&Becker Tank crash bar - crooked?

Hi folks,
I've bought a H&B tank crash bar from wunderlich.

I've tried installing it today, without much luck. It seems to me, that whole thing is crooked/bent/asymmetrical/out-of-alignment - see it here

My lower crash bar is the original BMW one - as far as I can tell, it's completely symmetrical (even if the engine isn't )

Anyone here got this crash bar installed? I'm I correct: "It's supposed to be symmetrical?"

I have the H&B tank guard and engine guard installed together. i don't think you can install the H&B tank guard with the OEM engine guard. I had the OEM engine guard and replaced it with the H&B one which is more sturdy IMHO. The OEM one was bent after the bike fell over after I tried to park it on a hill. No damage to the bike but the OEM guard became slightly twisted. Yes the engine is not symetrical so the H&B guards are not as well. Mine fitted without a problem.

I am sorry to say that my bars had a very ill fitting process too.
I called CAL & was told that this was IT. Sure enough it was IT.
They were harder that I would have expected to mate to the original but worth the cussing.
The nuts & bolts were "butter bolts" many broke at the head & threads were stretched. Had to replace the "butter bolts w/ grade 8s, allen heads & better locking nuts. Since, I have helped another GS rider w/ his set of bars & things went as expected, hard & still a poor fit, but much faster w/ another set of hands.
Standard are falling.

Default Life is an adjustment

Bought the BMW OEM aluminium cylinder head protectors. Great idea I thought.

Bought the H&B Engine & tank guards. Didn't fit with the BMW cylinder guard did they?

A few spacers, a lot of swearing & the problem was solved. Celebrated by a glass of red wine!
