okie dokie i have a few longer trips planned for this winter and altho i already have a larger screen on my GS i wanted sumthin a little more substantial so i started doin my homework and found a company near me wich is nice for a change!!
my original taller screen is 18 inches high but no wider than stock so i woz lookin to go taller and wider and they offered me a variety of different shapes and sizes but i listened to the guy who makes them and went with the popular style and size, cool thing woz the guy fitted the screen for me and told me to take it for a test ride, so as the business is in the nth GA mountains wot better place to give it a run, i covered about 100 or so miles and grabbed sum lunch in helen before headin back to the shop, along the way i decided i wanted to go 2 inches taller than the screen i had wich they had no problem with and they had one in stock so fitted it and sent me on my way with a big smile they even mailed me back my original screen so i wouldnt have to carry it! customer sevice to me is important and these guuys went out their way to make me happy and i love my new wind srceen (sorry windshield) and my journey home last nite at midnite over 100 miles of chilly intersate woz a breeze LOL i am a little over 6 feet tall and i have eaten more than my fair share of pies and tip the scales at a little over 300lbs and have an inseam of 31 inches, i run an aftermarket seat thats the same height as a stock seat set on high and i went with the 22 inch screen, it fills all the little gaps round the turn signals and works great ![]() the new srceen comes complete with these nifty little helpers to help stop the taller screen from bending to much in the 85mph + breeze it has to contend with plus the "fill in" seems to stop sum of that under shield blow i got from my stock screen ![]() ok i knew a bigger windshield woz'nt goin to add to the looks of the bike but for my commute and the trips i have planned this winter its goin to work out great, im not to unhappy with the looks of the screen either really especially when im sittin behind it! ![]() thanks to the charly and max at parabellum http://www.parabellum.com/ for takin the time to sort me out and for showin me sum of that customer care other business's only talk about these days! . I guess that any set of 17 inchers is going to hurt....
![]() It's proving difficult to find a set of 17" alloys to fit here in the UK. I'm currently plotting about stealing the wheels off my son's K1200S. At least the rear should fit. We're considering double entering the GS in some hill climbs in England next season and a set of 17s would give us access to some sticky rubber.

when i lived in the UK hagon laced me a set of rims, you can run a 160 rear tyre with no probs i only run the 180 for show that and i used to use take offs from my race bike for my older GS12 the K rear wheel wont fit, its the wrong way round and the off set isnt right either, as for fronts if you just want to do hill climbs (man i miss those) you can get sum pretty good rubber in a 19 wich will work ok but it wont be race rubber!
i did alot of track days on my 05 GS 12 it worked pretty well but it had a host of other mods too ![]()
