Default Powersocket Installation ??'s

I want to install two Powerlet Sockets into the area of the 1200's frame where winglets are placed (one on each side). I know that under the frame surface are circular indents for the actual holes. My question is: in order to be certain the holes are drilled & centered within these indents, can this frame section of the bike be removed and turned over to drill, or is there a procedure to drill these holes from the "bottom up" centered within these circular indents?

Yes - the sockets don't fit into the frame of the bike. They're just inset into the thermoplastic beak. So if you remove the beak you'll be able to turn it upside down and drill the holes through the centres of the indents which you've identified. Removing the beak isn't difficult at all, just a matter of a few bolts.

Color in the center of the indents with a black marker, then shine a bright flashlight thru from the bottom. Use a center punch to marker the center and drill in place.

Great suggestions - I used a drill extension and centered the pilot hole in the middle of the indent and was able to drill the holes right through the indents.

I suggest that you take clean power directly from the battery with an in-line fuse for the power outlets. Some accessories will freak out the Can-bus and get shut down. My seat outlet is Can-bus, but the two fronts aren't.
