Question Iridium sparkplugs and warranty

Has anyone heard of iridium sparkplugs voiding the 1200 GS warranty in case of problems involving them? I am about to have a set installed by my dealer, and they didn't say a word about that, but I want to double-check. Thank you.

Don't know Canadian law and the rules from other places may not apply.

If your engine is damaged due to a sparkplug failure and the replacement plug does not have the same specs as the recommended plug then you may be out of luck. If it does have the same specs and is recommended for the bike by the plug maker than you may be OK.

If Canadian law is like US law then failures not related to the plug are covered, regardless. That is, in the US a manufacturer can't deny a warranty on your rear wheel because you used a non-approved fuel pump.

as long as the plugs are the proper fit and heat range there shouldn't be any issues with what type or brand of plugs you use. I just bought my 2012R1200 GS and don't yet know what type of plugs are in it I would assume Bosch or maybe NGK I am using NGK iridium plugs in all my other bikes which I changed around 10K mi without any issues so far. My '07 Breva has over 25K mi on it and still runs great it has an inner plug that was an ngk Platinum (long life plug &
bi,tch to change so now I understand why they (MotoGuzzi) put in long life plugs Iridium plugs last a long time and are better IMHO than platinum plugs!!
