Default What was that mod?

HMarc,
Recently you added a module into your airbox that tricked the engine into believing that the temperature was ~10 degrees cooler. I can't find the thread and was wondering how it was working out... So how's it working out? My summertime temp hovers around 110 in the day and 85 at night. The bike doesn't seem to like it when the daytime temp gets that hot. It feels like it rattles more and is starving for oxygen. When it gets under 95 she runs fine.
Anyway, I'd like to know more about your mod.

I guess it was one of these or a very similar device....

It wasn't HMarc... he's on an F800 these days. I think you're talking about my thread which I put in the wrong forum. Here it is:

That's the one. I would just like to know how it's treating you. Has your mpg changed at all? Do you still feel like it's a better ride? I just want a little bit smoother low RPM than what I've got.

No noticeable change in mileage. Engine is better at low RPM. So far so good.

My gas milage went from around 210 miles per tank to 180 miles per tank. Mentally the bike feels stronger in the lower RPM area but the higher fuel consumption made me take it off.

Well I'm perfectly content with the power of my GS now. If my mileage went down I would absolutely remove the mod. Most of my riding is lower RPMs but since I got the WR450, I haven't taken the GS off-road much. That is ideally where I would like the low-end power increase. I guess that I don't want to mess with something that isn't broken.

Thanks for all of the input guys.

If someone is that excited to try one of these things make me an offer and I just may sell mine. I only used it for a couple months.
