Default Vision X Bulbs

My two BMWs, an '07 KGT and an '09 GSA, are low beam bulb eaters. When I was passing through Scottsdale, AZ in '08 and again in '09, I stopped at BMW Motorcycles of Scottsdale as I needed low beam bulb replacements. I purchased H-7s manufactured by Vision X (www.visionxusa.com) as they had a lifetime warranty. Last Sunday, as I was down to one bulb, I e-mailed Vision X to inquire if they still honored the warranty. Joe, Joe@visionxusa.com, answered affirmatively a couple of hours later. I scanned my receipts yesterday and e-mailed them to Joe and got their response. Vision X is sending me four new H-7s via UPS.

Does it get any better than that?

Mike

Craftsman or Snap-On tools can be exchanged without a receipt. Why do they need to know the purchase date if they offer lifetime warranty?

"Does it get any better than that?"

They could have not failed in the first place?

Ok, it's been a year or so - I've had bulbs only last weeks.
OEM ones too!
(Now I run Nightbusters.)

As a manufacturer myself, I always ask for proof of purchase as my products are warrantied for life to original purchaser. They probably have the same requirement, too.

Well, I guess they could have been free with a rebate. Heck, I've tried several brands and my BMWs consume them like popcorn. Last week, I installed an HID kit for my low beam and use the Vision X for the high beam.

Such requirements often turn the guarantee in nothing more than a marketing gimmick. High quality warranties are attached to the merchandise, not a buyer.

I've received my four bulbs from Vision X when I requested three. Their customer service was friendly and they shipped when they said they would. Don't you wish more companies used such "gimmicks?" I consider them a quality company simply because they did what they said they'd do. They backed their products as stated.

I'm glad that you had a positive experience. I wanted to point that there are companies offering true lifetime warranties, no tricky questions asked.
I'd buy Vision X bulb if they offered them without the cheesy blue coating.

Thanks, Supermax. Frankly, I was surprised they sent four new bulbs rather then the three I requested. As I mentioned in a previous post, I installed an HID kit for the low beam and, after an 8 day 2600 mile ride, I'm pretty happy with it. The color of the HID, bright white, is very close to the color of the Vision-X bulbs. Safety wise, I'm of the opinion that drivers notice the whiter lighting more. Well, that's my hope, anyway. The real test (longevity) will come with time. I'm planning a February trip from NC to CA and back. That ought to do it!

As for warranties, most everybody knows they're a sales gimmick. Basically, they amount to an insurance policy that a product is going to last for a stated amount of time and the price said product is adjusted accordingly.

As I understand it, brighter bulbs don't have long life expectancy. They run hotter and it wears the filament.
