Exclamation Troubleshooting engine stall

Hello guys,

Got my new 2017 GSA this past Saturday (May 13, 2017), took for a 90 miles ride.

3 times the bike when decelerating to stop in a traffic light or a slow down on a stop sign, the engine shuts off, I restart momentarily without issues, but why that happens?

Thank you for any inputs.
Grateful
LCL

Did the engine stall when you downshifted with Shift Assist Pro?

No, it only continue to happen when I slow down, without using the shift assist. When I slow down, it stalls...

Not resolved yet, but it does not happen all the time! very weird.

Thanks

I've never had my 1200LC do this, but my F-650 Dakar will do this if the engine RPM drops below 1500 RPM. There is a huge difference between the F-650 and the R1200LC though.

You aren't dragging the RPM down too low by being in too high a gear when coming to a stop, are you?
Just a thought.

I would suspect a faulty electronic throttle or to a lesser degree cam timing, there is also a possibility that BMW has addressed this specific issue with a software update but being the bike is a 2017 I doubt it.
