Default Ultimate Wind Protection

I wanted to share my results of searching for adequate wind protection for my GS. First off I am 6'2" tall, and was looking for better wind protection than the stock windscreen. I upgraded to a Cee Bailey large wind screen, but couldn't find the proper angle to prevent wind buffeting or direct air flow to the helmet. After doing a lot of searching online, and with the help of this forum, I have found the perfect system.
I invested in the Aeroflow tall screen with the lower touring faring. The whole system took a good hour to install, but it is extremely solid, and does an unbelievable job preventing buffeting and eliminates excessive air flow to my helmet. The system ran about $500 complete, with their current 15% discount. I can't tell you how enjoyable it is to ride longer distances at freeway plus speeds. I take multi day trips, and the only complaint I had with the R1200GS was inadequate wind protection. I was even thinking about purchasing an RT or K bike because of the wind problem.
If you are taller and want excellent wind protection, or even shorter, invest the extra money and get an excellent set up.
The only issue is I need to relocate my PIAA lights, since the light bar needed to be removed to install the touring faring.
I hope this helps you taller riders out there.

Thumbs up not as tall but !!

G'day RiderDW, good advice, thanks. I can only boast 5'7 but it gets windy for the height challenged as well, hehe. for me I just dropped the stock screen to the lowest setting and the wind noise reduced a lot from my helmet as the wind was more hitting my chest.. wind noise on the helmet solved, for me, anyway.. This is my first dualsport/tourer type so I am used to getting hammered by the wind on things like zx's and gsxr's, so any upright windshield seems like a luxury for me.. Anyway I am absolutely rapped in the 2011 R1200GS, the way it handles on the road has absolutely suprised me to say the least.. I am converted although the gsxr1000 is still in the shed along with the 610TE husky, I can't seem to part with any of them..

Hi, does anyone know if these are available in Europe or UK?
Otherwise over here it seems the Givi AF330 is the one to get, but it is not very attractive.
Thanks Peter

There's always a way. I have a friend who has an Aeroflow on his R1150GS, here in Scotland.

A quick search reveals that there's a distributor in France. Tu parle Francais...? http://www.motoluxe.eu/brands/AEROFLOW.html

I bought this one in a bid to avert certain deafness and it's doing a very fine job indeed. http://www.nippynormans.com/SUPER-HI...2D1200GS%2DSH/

Another prop here for the Aeroflow. I'm 5'11" and have the Tall screen on the sport fairing. I now ride around with my helmet face shield flipped up most of the time with this screen. Simply amazing. Removed all temptation to get an RT!

At up to 90mph (fastest I've gone), there is no buffeting. It has transformed the bike. Not cheap, but very much worth it.

I found with the stock screen that anything over 30mph/50kph resulted in too much wind noise. With the new screen I've got the same, very acceptable, level of noise from town to touring speeds. I'm 6' 3"/191cm
