Default Wiring my 2010 GS/A with heated seats

Re: my 2010 R1200 GS/A

So, I just got my new Russell Heated seating that I bought on the Adv Rider group buy. It is a sweet two-tone seat, and I only had time for a quick test ride before the Chicago rains came this afternoon. I had a Russell on the old bike, so I know what it's really like—and that's why I jumped on this group buy for the new bike.

On this bike, the pillion seat has to be removed first and installed last, or, not installed at all.

My question: Would it be a problem, a bad idea, or an otherwise regrettable mistake, to drill a hole in the plastic pan that sits beneath the pillion seat to access the wiring for the seat heat?

I really can't see a convenient way to hook up other than that—unless I spend about 15 minutes futzing around with wayward wires each time I try to get the drivers seat latched.

Any ideas on this?

That is exactly what I did. I drilled a hole a little larger than necessary so I could install a rubber grommet. It's very easy to route the leads to a Centech or other fuse box.
