Default Leak at clutch lever.

Ahoy ahoy, As I started my daily love affair with my GS this morning I noticed a leak from the clutch lever. Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering is it serious or something else entirely.......
It rides fine and gear changes appear to be happening as they should.
Thanks in advance, Al.

A leaky clutch lever is not a good thing. Clean it up and see if you can find the exact source of the leak. It may be something as simple as the gaskets either side of the banjo bolt... or there may be a new clutch master cylinder in your future.

How old is the bike? Have you ever removed the clutch reservoir cap and made sure that the fluid level isn't above the MAX mark? As the clutch wears the fluid rises in the master cylinder.

See http://www.snafu.org/pics/r1200gs/20...ice/page2.html
about 1/2 way down the page for removing the clutch reservoir cap.

Thanks Marc,

On quick inspection I can see the leak has stopped and the reservoir does seem quite full, maybe as full as the one in your link but I haven't opened it yet to properly inspect the levels. The bike is a 2004 model with almost 16,000 miles on the clock. A bit early for the clutch I would've thought.

Your clutch may be perfectly good. Being good doesn't stop it from wearing and when it wears the fluid rises. In the last 60K miles I've had to remove a dab of clutch fluid twice. It's no big deal.
