Default Can't Find the Alarm box?

Ok Im new to this form, just picked up a 2005 GS this weekend on the display as it cycles through its check the last item is a battery with DWA, the owner that I got the bike from stated that the battery in the alarm box needs to be replaced ( not the hand control ) I went to my local BMW shop and was told that it was located under the plastic cover under the passenger seat ?? So I had a look no joy I went to the BMW shop parts department and asked for the battery for the control box and was told that there is no listing for a replacement battery for the control box. The service manager insists that there is a battery. Can ya help me find and INFO on changing that elusive alarm control box battery?? Help Steve

I believe the battery is a common 3V model, but don't recall the common number. The BMW number is 65 75 2 337 504.

To access you need to remove the seat, the luggage rack, and the plastic deck. When you get the bike looking like this:

You'll see a module plugged into the wiring harness at the far end, near the tail light connection. I don't have the alarm so can't show you a picture of the actual unit.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.
