Question Tool Kit Question

I'm in the process of building a real tool kit for my '07 R12GS and discovered the awesome checklist that Marc put together under the Tools link. But after looking over the list, I'm wondering where all the hex fasteners are that require a 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 13mm combination wrench in the tool kit? In fact, I can't find a single hex of any size on my bike - it's all Torx and Allen head fasteners. Can anyone straighten me out?

Also, what is the 14mm/17mm end wrench for that's supplied in the rather meager, BMW factory tool kit from 2007?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have conventional hex nuts on the mirror stems, the blind nuts on the windshield adjusting bolts. There must be more....apart from the big end bolts.....

As mentioned, the mirror mounts are 17 mm. At least they are on my '05. If you're going to do a valve adjust you'll need a thin 10mm box wrench. Brake bleeds need a 7mm and an 8 mm. Offset wrenches are best for that IMHO. And your '07 has different brakes from my '05. FWIW my brake bleed wrenches stay home. If I'm so unlucky to need them on the road I'll buy new.

Then there are the farkles. Some farkles are metric, others US. The metric farkles are likely to be allen instead of Torx. You wind up carrying a bit of everything.
