BMW R1200GS Starting problem

Hi, has anyone any ideas regarding a starting problem. I've just installed a new battery (fully charged) and when I try to start I only get a clicking sound. I've not ran the engine for about four months at least. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Is the new battery fully charged? If so is it because the vendor said it was or because you put it on a charger yourself before putting the battery in the bike?

Are the battery contacts fully seated with tight connections?

What is the resting voltage of the battery?

Also be sure to check the OTHER ends of the battery cables too - if the connections on both ends aren't tight, you'll get the clicky thing.
