Default 2010 Silencer on a 2004 R12GS?

Howdy Folks,

Any idea if a silencer (end can only) from a 2010 R1200GS will fit my 2004 R1200GS? Mine took a bash when I got knocked off recently. It looks like a good physical match but I wonder will there be tuning issues?

Thanks

In adendum, it's not a 2010 silencer, it's earlier than that. I'm gonna give it a shot anyway. If there are issues, I'll just harvest the shiny parts and do a transplant.

Or we just don't know the answer. I suspect that a 10 will only fit a 10 or later bike. But then you said it wasn't a 10. So what is it? When you know look up the part number for that year on realoem. Then do a part number search and it will tell you what years used the same part number. It's not perfect, but it will get you close.

And the answer is......... Yes. I finally got a delivery of a shiny new silencer (which is from a brand new '10 bike) and it fits like the proverbial glove. I've done a few miles and no running issues to speak of. Happy days. I'll post updates if that changes.
