Default Clicking noise

I recently purchased a 2008 GSA from a friend with 24K miles. It just had a complete service. I rode it around the neighborhood without a helmet and noticed a clicking that seemed to come form the right side cylinder area. It did not change with warming and was constant. Sounded like possibly a valve lifter but I am not familiar enough with the engine set up to know what it was.

Any ideas?

Wear earplugs. Your bike will run better.

Next time you have the valve covers off check out the rocker end play. The allowed range is quite large. 0.05 ~ 0.40 mm. They are noisy at the large end.
