Default Charcoal canister solanoid

I want to remove my charcoal canister to gain more room for an after market shock, can I remove the solenoid without creating fault codes?

I removed the charcoal canister on my '05 GS and have had trouble-free riding since. I recommend it if your state laws allow. Also, don't forget to remove the little rubber insert in your gas tank to allow up to 0.5 gallons more in your tank. Use the Canisterectomy as a guide:

Charcoal Canister Removal

But you also mentioned a solenoid. I didn't remove a solenoid with the canister. I think that you may be mistaken on that part.

I had the same question regarding the solenoid. Since it is small and not in the way, I just capped the input and outputs and left it connected to the bike.

Thanks for the info, I ended up using a spare piece of hose to link the two solenoid fittings to seal them, What is this rubber insert in the tank to gain extra fuel capacity?

Yes you can remove it with out a fault code, its just simple circuit that opens the valve when the motor is on.
