Hi,
I've just fitted a new Staintune system (headers and exhaust) to my 2004GS. The bike runs fine and does not seem to need any re-mapping. I've taken the noise restrictor plug out and the bike sounds great. Being Australian I love Staintune and their warranty provided. Unfortunately this time I could not get a weight saving check. I feel it is a couple of kilos at least. I replaced the 2 cans on a Suzuki V-Strom (DL1000) and the weight saving was a whopping 9 kilograms. That's 4 House Bricks in Australia. Enjoy the Staintunes |

Thanks Mavicone. I appreiate your reply.
By the way, where are you in Aust? Did you take out the cattalytic converter shit or leave it in the pipes? I'm in NSW at Wauchope. Would be good to go for a run one day. Cheers Ken

Hi Ken,
For our overseas members; your town is the eastern start of the Oxley Highway. Rated Number 1 ride in Australia by many. I know one roadsign says 66kms of Curves Ahead. Bewarned. He! He! I live in Grafton now after leaving Hornsby last Christmas. And I did not tamper with the Staintune System supplied. That big GS converter box does go though. The Staintune with Stainless Headers and no converter really make the bike a "that is art!' The Staintune people also supply the Compliance Sticker for your bike. |
