Default Rear sub frame

Hello, does anybody know what material the rear subframe is? And does anybody have any advice on heating and bending of the tubing. I have a bent tube, should I replace it, or heat it and have it straightened? Its on an 2009 r1200gs. Thanks.

What do you mean by the rear subframe?
There is only one frame on the R1200GS.
Are you perhaps referring to the additional brace to the top box?

A pic would help.

Actually, there is the engine, a front frame piece and a rear frame piece. The pieces are often called sub-frames. RealOEM.com * Diagram Selection shows the two parts.

I assume the frame is made from steel tubing. It passes the magnet test, anyway.

OK, point taken with the front frame

That rear frame is a structural unit and rather critically engineered.
A bent tube? Which one?
If it is in the main girder portion, I would get a replacement frame.
