Unhappy Blown something

Please help! My 07 R1200gs has a problem. The break lights are always on (front and rear) therefore I have no breaking signal in the rear. The speedometer is also out and the milage does not accru, I may not have the gas guage as well. I think I may have arced the battery to a screw on the frame while installing a wireing harness. Is there a fuse somewhere that opperates these circuits? Help

I don't have a wiring diagram for the '07 models. I'd guess that the ABS controller (assuming you have ABS) controls most of those circuits and is at fault. You'll likely have to find someone with a GS-911 or go to a dealer so you can read the fault codes and/or see if the controllers are responsive.

I hope that you have not blown a controller... they are expensive.

Hi James,

Difficult to say without more info, but (and this is a long shot) you could try disconnecting the battery and leaving the bike for say 30 mins before reconnecting the battery. If youre lucky this may reset any transient glitches in the controlers. Failing that, then marc's suggestion to get a dealer to read/reset any fault codes would be the next step.

Good luck.

Glenn

Hi James,

there should be a problem with the rear ABS sensor or its wiring.
Remembering your last post (heating grips), maybe you removed the battery?
In this area the cable connector for ABS is placed. Maybe, there is a cable break?
