Default Crash Bars

Time to install crash bars on my '07 GS. I've narrowed the choices down to SW-Motech and Hepco Becker. Touratech was eliminated because of the problem getting the valve covers off. Any opinions about SW-Motech or Hepco Becker, such as quality, fit, finish, crash worthiness? Wunderlich looks like they just market the same Hepco Becker but at a much higher price.

Thanks,

Pat

Hi Pat,

I have the Motech bars and they are fine. The bike has been over a few times off-roading and have defended the heads perfectly.

The only thing with the Motech bars, is they do have a brace that goes under the bash plate and when off-roading it does take a battering and fills with mud and gore.

Happy with mine, good price and finish is excellent.

Cheers, Stu

IIRC, Hepco-Becker makes the bars for SW Motech.

I have the SW-Motech bars and while I have not tested them in a crash or extreme mud, I am happy with them. Fit and finish are excellent.
