Default Spencers Seat Mod

Well, I did it. I sent my seats off to Spencers Moto Care in Florida to have work done on my GS seat. Figured with the forecast predicting rain for the next two weeks and work looking busy for the next two weeks with little to no time to ride, it would be a good time to ship my seats back east and have them worked on. I am having the front seat tilt problem fixed, better foam put in and some gel inserts put in to make long distance runs better. I am also having the reat seat done for the Mrs. (just a minor reshaping and better foam) Spencer also reshapes the seat just a bit to give is more of a seat pocket to sit in. Cost.................... $100 plus shipping both ways. As soon as I get them back and get some time in the saddle, I will post to let people know if it helped or not. I did 4 hours yesterday, and could feel it, or couldnt feel, depending on how you are looking at it. Hopefully I can remember that and use it as a comparison.

I look forward to hearing your review. I would also like to have the front seat reworked to help with the tilting forward. The price seems right, thanks for being the test pilot

Mine left today. I have the GSA seat so he's just doing the standard modification with the long distance gel insert added.

Good, this looks like it may work out to be a good thread with a GS seat and a GSA seat going out at the same time. Kurt, where are you shipping from? Mine is going from Oregon to Florida, so will most likely take a week plus to get there. Spencer says he has a 24-48 hour turn around and he ships daily, so a day or so there and then back into the UPS system for a week back to me. I plan on trying it without the Alaska Leather buttpad and then with it and will post the results. I will also post pictures of the seat, forgot to take before pix, but we all know what they look like and it should look the same when it comes back as he uses the same cover.

Default seat tilt

Hey there,
I too found the seat tilting forward. To over come this I lowered the bar under the seat (which raised the front) at the front and left the rear one where it was. I know the handbook says not to do this but it seems to work fine for me. Any ideas why the handbook says not to do this? Eveything still fits ok and the seat locks in.

Cheers

No idea, but I also cut the tags off of my new mattress last week despite dire warnings to the contrary.

Cut the tags off did ya. I'll pass your name on to the proper authorities.

I too run with my seat in the high position in the front and low in the rear. Figure if he is going to fix the foam, he might as well fix the tilt too so I can actually use the adjustable seat. Thought it might be nice to run it all in high during highway trips, yet drop it low for dirt. Per UPS seat should arrive at his shop on Wed, so I am hoping it will be done and back in the mail by Saturday. The bike just does not look right sitting in the garage laid up like that.

I have been running like that also. I am hoping they are able to correct the tilt towards the tank. If they do it for you, I am going to send mine right off also. I have my ear to the ground
