Default R12GS Cruise Control

Does anyone have experience with mounting an electronic cruise control on the R12GS? I have a MCCruise unit on my Honda ST1300, but this company has yet to develop a similar unit for the GS. Any shared experiences would be appreciated.

No experience with an automatic system, but I'm going to give myself the Kaoko Throttle Lock for Giftmas.

Default Respond to question.

I already know about throttle locks. That is why my message stated ELECTRONIC CRUISE CONTROL, not throttle locks. I need information regarding things I don't already know about.

I too use the Kaoko throttle lock. But for just short breaks to relax my right hand, wrist and arm, I taught myself a neat trick. Using my left hand on the throttle.

At first, it scared the crap out of me, and I had to keep my right hand just inches away from the grip. But I persisted in practicing, and after a surprisingly short amount of time (maybe an hour of practice over the course of several days, while on a long multi-day ride), I got the hang of it. I'm now comfortable enough with it to ride through the twisties with my left hand on the right handgrip -- though I don't do that for obvious safety reasons.

But it sure is a nice way to relax my right arm for a bit when the road is empty and straight...

Note: I'm not suggesting you try this yourself. It's quite dangerous. I've been riding motorcycles for 45 years including a lot of desert racing and observed trials, so I'm as comfortable riding as I am walking. That, I'm sure, makes a big difference. Plus, sometimes I'm an idiot.

Also, though it may not be illegal to do that in the USA, I'll damn bet it is in the UK or Europe, where I've heard riding one-handed is against the law.

Something of interest on cruise controls for the GS.

From the sounds of it one may be available in the next couple of months.

For the uninformed, if Gadget Boy doesn't know about it, it probably doesn't exist.
