Default rear splash guards

i have an'08 r12gs w/happy trail panniers, the pannier brackets the way they are, clamp onto the frame right where the mudsling or maier splash guard would mount. i would like something to protect the shock and battery, i've looked around and haven't come up with anything.....any ideas?

The battery is protected by a thick case. For the shock you can fit a shock sock.

Default Here's an alternative

Here's a very cheap but effective alternative to huggers and mudslings, and a few other ideas as well...

Rear fender fix

Default Rear splash guard

Check Nippy Norman, they have an exelent mudsling which protect the shock damper and aginst dirt below the sadle and battery.

Default MudSling

I had the same problem when I mounted my Jesse bags; the mounts clamp in the same location as where the MudSling would rest against the frame. I used a Dremel tool and cut out a notch in the MudSling so it would nestle in nicely around the clamp. Took only minutes to cut, fits tight, and you don't even notice the notch unless you look for it.
