Default Hyperlights

Anyone install Hyperlights on their GS? Is it plug-and-play? Any fault codes? Know of any online instructions?

With zero reads in a week, no one may be interested, but here goes...

Installation was very straight-forward, remove the brake light lens, remove three screws from underneath the rear seat and slide the whole housing out. This is more difficult if you have Touratech racks and requires loosening the racks to gain clearance for the housing removal.

From there unplug two spade connectors, from the back of the housing, plug in the control module and reconnect original wires to the piggy-back connectors. Attach the bracket with LED's to the license plate frame (I had to trim off the reflectors to get it to fit on the bottom of the plate). Run your wires and cut and crimp to length with the supplied crimps.

I happen to like this better than the Brake! LED unit that replaces the brake light bulb and is contained in the brake light housing. It leaves you without a solid brake light and appears to just flash. The Hyperlights leave the solid OEM brake light on and add the additional flashing effect. More is better IMHO. I have had no fault readings with this unit.

I've had Hyperlites on my previous two BMWs and they're a great product. Installation is simple and the customer support (should you need it) is excellent. No issues with the Canbus either. I highly recommend them.

I have Hyperlites on all my bikes, don't want to leave home without them. I think they are a good safety feature. No CAN bus issues as well.

Hello, new member and new owner ...

I am looking for some added lights for the rear of my 2010 GSA, with top box mounted the stock unit needs much to be desired! The Hyperlights sound like the ticket, LED, low current draw and no problems with BMW computer system. Does anybody have pictures of installed lights? Is there a preferred place to purchase from?

Thanks for any and all help.

I bought directly from the hyperlights website. They have some pictures there as well.

The '05 wasn't difficult. The later models may vary slightly, but come with good installation instructions.
