Question Auxilary Light Wattage

I would like to add auxilary lights to my 2006 R12GS. I may also want to add some additional electrical items--radio, heated vest. What is the recommended wattage for aux lights and what is the maximum wattage of all the combined electrial accessories that can be added using the factory alternator and knowing that at some time there will be more than one accessory running at a time? Also, is there a diagram of how to add an ignition activated fuse block?

Thanks in advance for your in put.

For a diagram and method of adding external power devices see http://www.snafu.org/pics/r1200gs/2009/0204-fuzebox/

There are other choices, the Fuzeblock just happened to be the one I picked. It's 30 amp limit is what I felt comfortable with. There is no published "you may use this many watts" figure that I'm aware of. I'm also not aware of anyone having any power issues... even those with the early 600 watt alternators (current models use a 720 watt version) and Whizzy brakes (which use a LOT of power, especially when the ABS is triggered).

As for lighting... compare lumens, not watts. After market HID driving lights will put a lot of light on the road for not all that much power usage. I cared more about visibility and added fog lights, rated at 50 watts each. The pair draws about 8 amps. They are usually on whenever the motor is running.
