Default Stock Seat

I am considering buying a 30th anniversary 1200 GS and one think I like is the red seat. My question is how many people run up considerable miles on the stock seat? Is the seat any better than my old 2000 1150?

Stock seats really suck, you won't ride very far before you start looking at aftermarket seats. I personally like my Sargent, but there are a lot of choices out there.

I kind of figured that. I have started leaning towards getting an 09 demo. That will leave me some money for a seat and some other goodies.

While I haven't put many miles on 1150's my riding buddy has about 70,000 on his '01 1150 with the stock seat and seems to have no complaints.

When I bought my '05 1200GS I thought the seat was pretty uncomfortable but that's been the case with my last four BMW's. I've kept the stock seat on each and either I adjusted to the seats or they've adjusted to me. I now have about 46,000 miles on the '05 GS with the stock seat and have done several long trips with quite a few 800 mile days along the way. The stock seat suites me fine...but that's just me and my 64 year old 260 Lb. body. Your opinion may vary

Save your money...and spend it on a Russell. They'll be glad to make you a red one, and you'll never regret it.

HI,

My suggestion is first go for trail ride, after you confirm which one is comfort to you. And all the best for your lovable red seat.

I have a Sargent and found it to be lower than my stock seat.

Default stock seat with wool sheepskin

Hi, I have a 08' GSA and have been riding 20k so far on the stock seat with a wool sheepskin seat cover. My bottom end has been fine, although its all I know.
Take care,
ElG
