Default Engine Guards for 2010 1200GS

I am shopping and have a question for all of you. I am seriously looking at the Tourtech engine guards. They seem a little expensive and I was wondering what are the advantages of the TT when compared to the BMW engine guards?

Under cylinder protection is the advantage. I believe both are made from stainless steel. The Hepco&Becker bars also give you under cylinder protection but are not stainless.

How about the ALT rider bars. They are a bit more expensive than the TT but they sure seem nice. Any experience with the ALT Rider Crash Bars?

Default Crash Bars

I've been looking at both AltRider and TT. I frequently travel to Germany and am trying to purchase the set there, but just starting that adventure. On the other hand, the AltRider will cost about $40 more than the TT (from USA); however, I've had some contact with AltRider and have visited their website frequently. It seems that their customer service is top notch and their website has extensive video demos of their products. I like the idea of buying from the US and will probably end up buying the AltRider set. Can't go wrong with stainless.

YMMV.

I had Hepco Becker on my previous 08 GS,both engine and fairing. They did the job great on a fall in rocks at speed of about 20k/h! They didn't even bent. Protected the bike but of course the paint came off and now they are in the shed with a need of a paint job!
After dropping my new GSA on cement when taking it off the center stand with a full load,( i know, i should of had it in gear in case it rolls away on me) the stainless bars are scratched but hardly noticible. I would spend the extra cash and go with the stainless steel ones. There's also something about stainless that catches the eye i find. I like the looks of the Alt Rider, different!
Good luck with your choice!
