Question Extra driving lights

Can two 100 watt driving lights be used on an 06 GS, if they are powered through a fuse block?

Depends what other accessories you have drawing current, but in general, yes.

But why? Wattage is a measurement of power used, not light produced. If I needed that much extra light I'd probably add after market HIDs and get more light while using much less power.

Although and as you pointed out back in July, Marc, when Mr Gordon asked a similar question - much depends on whether this '06 bike has ABS. If so, it's going to have servo brakes which draw a significant current.

It all adds up - 110W for dip+main beam, 200W for driving lamps, brake and tail lamps, turn signals, instrument lamps, heated grips, ignition system and possibly the brake servo. With all that switched on at one time it could become marginal, especially at low revs and with an older battery.

Better, as you suggest to go the HID route.

Thanks for the explicit break down. Very helpful.
