I’ve got a seat made by Rich, it’s the most comfortable seat I’ve ever had on a bike.
I went to his shop with my 05 GS, he makes the seat tailored to your butt after you’ve picked out the materials, the workmanship is impeccable, and the comfort is amazing. I’d recommend you ride your bike to his shop & have it tailored during an appointment, rather than doing a mail order arrangement. Jeff... |

I have the Sargent low seat on my Adventure and I like it. If you buy one, pay extra for them to remove the BMW tri-color logo. The extra seams on the logo just soak up water in the rain which then squeezes out and keeps your crotch wet for the rest of the day.

Those of you with a R1200GSA, what do you think of the adventure seat? I recently removed the stock seat on a R12GS in favor of the stock seat off of a R12GSA and am amazed at the difference.
As the first post indicates, after an hour or two on the stock seat it's nasty. I had an 11 hour day in the saddle with the GSA seat installed and wasn't sore at all. I managed to get the ADV seat for just under $200 on ebay and haven't been disappointed one bit. The ADV seat makes the driver section even in height with the pillion seat which makes sliding around easier if necessary and it's also added a bit more in height. I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam and the height is now perfect as well. I know it's not a custom but it's also not as expensive as a custom... |

I'm with the Sargent crowd! I just put one on my 12GS and in combo with the sheepskin butt pad I had previously from Barb(alaskaleather.com) I'm big time happy. Don't know if it's the best seat(butts vary eh) but it works for me. I am 100% sure though the stock seat was terrible and I'd actually look forward to fuel stops.
