Question Clearwater Krista Lights

Has anyone installed Kristas on their GS? If so, what light bar did you use? Thanks.

I mounted mine on a PIAA light bar upside down. They are so incredibly bright that I wanted some separation from the turn signals so folks would still be able to see my signals.

I absolutely love the lights, btw. I keep them dialed down to about 40%, but when I hit the high beams and they go to full power it's like a pair of miniature suns going off!

I just did put these on, and I used the light bar from Twisted Throttle.

$34.99 and worked like a champ. Awesome lights too.

I also added the Stebel air horn set-up from Excel Cycle Werkes, and his wiring harness allows the horn to bypass the dimmer switch on the lights, so blowing the horn also gives a blast of full brightness from the Kristas and the bikes high beam.

Thanks guys.

Scootertrash, what year is your GS? The only bar I see from Twisted Throttle that fits mine (an '07) is $189.95.

You are absolutely right. Mine is a '10, and this piece apparently is for '08 and newer. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply - I thought maybe I was missing something. Hmmm....looks like I can save significant $$ on a light bar if I buy a newer GS. I wonder if my wife will buy into my logic...

The pictures on the Twisted Throttle web site don't show it very well. Is this light bar one or two piece. How did you install it?
Thanks for your help!

It's actually three pieces. They bolt together and attach to two mounting points up under the fender of the '08s and newer. Installation is a 5 minute job. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would buy a $150-$200 solution when this set up is rock solid and dirt cheap.

The center section (that you can't see) is black, and the two outer pieces are silver. Personally, for use with the Kristas which are black, I would have preferred that they were black too. I contemplated painting them, but as the bike has a silver frame and other silver details, I got lazy and decided silver looked ok too.

I put the bike on our turntable just now and took some "glamor" shots and a short U tube video which I'll post links to as soon as they are ready.
