Default Traction Control

I am getting ready to buy a new 2011 1200GS. My question is it worth the extra cost to get the traction control? All opinions welcome!

It's a great safety feature for slippery surfaces and you can always disable it if needed. Worth the $$ IMHO.

So long as you remember to disable it, that is. Every time I pop the front wheel up over a crest or leap the bike over a humpback bridge, I'm reminded that I forgot to switch it off or at least set it to the less aggressive setting. As soon as you get a wheel off the ground in the default setting, it kills the power.

Hi,

how do you put it on a "less aggressive setting"?

Thanks for the info...

It has 3 modes. On, offroad (less aggressive so you can get a bit loose) and off. You cycle through the modes by pushing the asc button.

My 2007 Adventure does not have traction control; my next Adventure WILL have the extra feature. In the Pacific Northwest, it rains constantly. Depending on your location, it would be a great feature to have on the moto. If nothing else, it would be good to have for resale.

1. It's an actual safety feature
2. It can be turned off
3. It's not very expensive as OE

why wouldn't you get it ? - JMO
