Default Verholen lift handle

Anyone here have any experience with a Verholen lift handle? See: http://www.sierrabmwonline.com/produ...e43877fae03ea4
There is one on the 07 GS I bought, and I may have to move it. My concern/question is that there is a dimple in the frame where the 'set screw' was tightened. I wonder if there is a chance of corrosion there, or if it's not really an issue.

Any input would be appreciated.

Tim

hi there, i used the wunderlich before and after 3 days of use i took it off the bike. for some reason it made a dent as you say on the frame. Also after a couple of lifts it started to spin so i had to tighten it even more.

Now i have not fitted anything on the bike.

Any time you expose raw metal to the elements, corrosion will eventually settle in like a crazy unemployed relative and give you problems eventually. But you can remedy the problem by scratching or sanding off any loose paint and dabbing with some primer and top coat that should reseal it. Or, if you keep the attachment in place, consider using some silicone sealant around the joint area, after cinching it up as tight as possible. Silicone is flexible and will hold tight even if the accessory has some slight movement.

That handle is an ingenious solution to a non-existent problem!

Just grab the front part of the passenger footpeg mount and lift.
If you do stick your finger in too far, you may touch the hot exhaust.
But unless you are totally dufus, you won't do it a second time.

I bought a made in Germany lift handle for Miss Piggy a couple of
years ago. Beautiful piece of machining. Only problem was
it did not work. It would spin and was dinging the frame.
For me it was wasted money.
