Default Corbin Heated Seat Wiring Pigtail With Fuse Needed

Hello All,

I need to find a stock pigtail wire so I can hook-up my used Corbin heated seat to my GS battery. Anyone have one not needed? Corbin will not sell this wire.

Maybe, if I cannot obtain one used or new, someone who has one can tell me the name of the manufacturer of the connector used and the type of fuse required so that I can fabricate one. Even a tried and true recipe for a fabrication will help. Thanks.

I don't know what kind of connector Corbin uses. If it is the typical SAE connector you can use one of these. Warning: do NOT use pigtails made for mattery chargers. They are only made to handle 2-3 amps. A heated saddle will draw more than that. The linked harness is rated for 15 amps, I believe.

Thanks Marc.

I found some specs for Corbin heated seats, which rated the seats at 3.5 amps. I compared the wiring size of the seat wires to the pigtail connector and they measured 12 gauge. Surprisingly, the wires on my Battery Tender are a smaller gauge zip wire. I'll take the seat with me and shop some automotive parts stores hoping to find the matching female connector and if I do, I'll just buy the fuse holder, wire and battery contacts and fabricate the thing myself.

Default Corbin

Just adding some information AS INFO:

I called Corbin and spoke to customer service. They told me they were not permitted to sell me the pigtail wire connection, it was not their policy. I was told to call a Corbin dealer to buy a pigtail wire. I contacted the only 3 dealers I could come up with. None had one to sell or would get one for me. I called back Corbin and spoke to someone in sales. They again told me they were not permitted to sell the wire. We discussed the logic of this policy to no end and I asked for the fuse size and the name of the connector used. The woman promised to call me with this information so that I could make my own wire. No one has called. Fellow riders..............draw your own conclusions from my experience.
