vario side bag attachment issue 2009 gs

Just bought Vario side bags on e-bay, didn't get a manual, and I can't get red tabs down on the center pegs. Both pegs are turned in all the way. What's the riddle here? Just keep on adjusting until the tabs go down? Any help appreciated, and/or link to a manual as to how to hang these panniers.

By center peg do you mean the mushroom bolt? It needs to be 27 mm above the rail it screws into. Too high or too low and you won't be able to close the latch.



The diagram reads starting point as you might have to do some fine tuning to get it perfect.

Thanks, that's the view I needed. Mine are turned all the way down, so it looks like it has to come up quite a bit. I appreciate your help and the photo. Barry
