Until earlier this evening I had an aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitor in the rear wheel of my GS. Last ride the TPM console couldn't read the rear wheel sensor and complained about it with a blinking yellow light after about 15 minutes. Today I found out why.
The sensor is strapped to the wheel using, in effect, a very large hose clamp. The hose clamp broke, somehow, leaving the sensor and pieces of the clamp rattling around the rear wheel. Of course I had to remove the tire to find the cause. I'll need to source a new clamp... or not bother putting the TPM back. Not sure which I'll do. In the mean while I cut power to the TPM console so it doesn't blink at me all the time. A bit more info here. |
