Default Running Lights identification

Hi;

I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a 08 1200 GSA.

It has some after market running lights (jpg file attached) that attach by the calipers. Hopefully someone may be able to identify which type they are. I need to find out (1) How to turn them on and off (There is some sort of mapping process that has to do with pressing handlebar buttons a certain number of times, etc.; and (2) How I might find the tool that is used to unscrew the front of the light for bulb replacement.

I would ask the previous owner these questions but I bought directly from a dealer and I could not get the previous owner's name. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

I believe you have a set of Motolights. You can click on this link,
http://www.motolight.com/motorcycle-lights, and should be able to access what you need.

I hope this helps.

Yes, those are motolights. There is tool, a small pin wrench, that is used to unscrew the front bezel to get at the bulbs. As for your on/off... that sounds like they are connected with an Autoswitch as the stock Motolights came with a simple rocker switch.

Default Thank you to Mike and Marc!

Mike;
Motolights they are. Thanks for the link. The pdf file will be helpful for maintenance, repair, etc. Appreciate it.

Marc;
You are spot-on. Used the link to find out how to turn on and off. (Hold the high-beam switch until the led flashes, then double-click the swith; same procedure to turn off.) So simple to do, but just about impossible to figure out without the directions in the pdf. I was clueless. Never even heard of Autoswitch, so I appreciate your directions to the answer!

Glad it worked out, Bill. I was on the Motolight site this morning and they have a grooved ring that doesn't require a special wrench. Here's the link: Lens Rings - Grooved, Brushed Aluminum I thought this might be a help so you wouldn't have to carry another tool on the road.

Enjoy your new bike.
