Default SEAT for 2007 R1200GS(A)

Can anyone recommend a great seat for 2007 R1200GS(A) which doesnt slope forward/down causing jeans to constantly ride up to your knees everytime you apply brakes?

Put the front of your seat in the "high" postion and the rear of the seat in the "low" position. That seems to make a big difference. Beyond that, everyone has a different butt so it is hard recommend an after market seat. I use a Sargent and it has really been great, but there are several quality seats available. You might want to check the G-spot over at ADVRIDER.

Yep, make sure you have the seat in this position. I really like the comfort of the stock seat, and have no woes with sliding forward.

I've tried several on my 05 1200 GS

Touratech one piece, came with bike along with the OEM. Same as yours, slopes forward and crowds you.

Then I bought a used Bill Mayer, still had some slope to it and found a deal on a used Sargent. The Sargent was the best of the lot so far......

Then found a great deal on a heated Russel Day Long and sold all the rest of them except the OEM for when or if I sell the bike. The RDL is the choice for my hind end.

I had a RDL on my VStrom when I sold it also.

I suppose the best way to buy a RDL is to have it custom made for you but if you can find a used one that is made for someone that is comparable to your weight and inseam measurements it should work for you just as mine does now.

In looking at my 05 owners manual, it says to keep the levers for seat adjustment at the high or low positions but never one in the high and in the low position. Did this change for new models or was this just something BMW discouraged but can be done?

Noone could ever figure out why BMW wrote that. The advice has been ignored since day one. I don't know if it is still in the manuals.
