Default Installation of Adventure Windscreen on GS

I'd like to know if anyone has made the conversion from the stock GS 1200 windscreen to an Adventure windscreen? If so how did it do on the buffeting? I'm 6'2'' and I'd like a little less noise & Buffeting above 55mph.

This is one of three options I'm considering along with the Givi with GSA winglets or the Desierto III.

Thanks very much,

John

I too have been wondering if the GSA screen will fit a GS and how many extra parts will be needed and the cost and effectiveness. It seems like looking at ADVrider, a number of GSA riders replace the screen right away too. I have ordered a set of winglets for my GS, I will post when they come and hopefully work!

Well, it took a while to get them, but my winglets finally arrived from Chicago BMW. Got them put on the other night and finally got a chance to take a ride with them yesterday. WOW! What a difference. Up to this point I was going to replace the windscreen, still running the stock one, but now, I am going to put that money towards some other farkle. The difference is just amazing. I was running 65 on the freeway with my visor full open and was fine, just a little bit of wind on my inner visor, but no buffeting and no fast moving air making it hard to breath. Best money I have spent so far on the bike.

Default Windscreen GS

Hi John,
I bought a Wunderlich Ergo screen for my GS and although it is not quite as good as the RT screen it is acceptable. I am 190cm and always find it more difficult than most to get out of the wind buffeting. It is simple to fit and 515mm taller than original. Hope that helps. Regards Roger

I made the change about a month ago. What a difference. Made the change to winglet's too. It's perfect, the buffeting is gone but I still feel like I'm on a bike and not in a cocoon.

Thanks,

john

Default Givi + Ceebailey

I have the Givi and the Ceebailey winglets on my 05 R1200GS and that combo works great.

Same here, though stock in summer for more air flow.

I put on the BMW wingletts and a Cee Bailys Adventure 16" windshiled. Works great! The Cee Baily Adventure windshield is the same set-up as the GSA I just had them make it 1" shorter than the GSA.

I'm 6'1" 180 lbs.
