Default Pivot Pegz Mark 3

I just put the Pivot Pegz on my wife's '08 GS. She has a short shift lever. I forget the brand, but it has a slot to adjust the length.
So anyway, when I tried to remove the shift lever to get the peg pin out, the shallow allen button head clamping bolt on the lever rounded out. Bummer. I heated it, etc. but no joy. So I got out the Matco bolt remover set, drilled the head of the bolt with a 5/32 inch drill. Heated the lever to about 250 deg F, inserted the appropriate remover and with a little torque, removed the bolt.
WHEW!
Mental note, next time heat the thing first.
Underwood of the former Underwood's BMW told me USE HEAT JACK!
He keeps being right.
I replaced the bolt with a deep allen head one.

The stock shift lever bolt was an e-torx, not an allen head. It was probably after market hardware that came with the after market shift lever. I wonder if loctite was used, too? I did not need heat to remove the stock hardware.... but that may have been the fastener that caused me to buy my first e-torx bits!

On two different sets of pegs the key to getting the spring right was paying attention to the high/low position and which side of the bike you were working. I don't know if the Pivot Pegs are the same way.

The springs that fit one way with the pegs in the high position had to be swapped side-to-side to fit on the bike with the pegs in the low position. Pictures of a Powerpegz (similar to the Pivotpegs) install here.

The mounting instructions are terrible, mostly because it is straight forward, except for the Springs.
I did not pay enough attention how the stock ones were, now I am not sure what to do...

Assuming the springs on the pivot pegs are similar....

and

That is with similar pegs mounted in the low position. If mounted in the high position the springs will go on the bottom instead of the top.
