Default Using an iPod

Just added a Webpage here regarding mounting and using an iPod when riding. Applies to any bike/model.

Thumbs up +1

Very similar to my setup. My remote is the iJet from ABT. I mounted the clip for the controller on the base of the left miror stalk, using a velcro strap. That makes it just a short reach for my left thumb to adjust volume, etc. Quick and easy to remove it completely, if needed.

For ear buds, I use the Etymotic ER6i model. Although they're not custom, they reduce wind noise as well as my custom plugs do, and have very good fidelity.

What I like best is not being tethered to the bike. I used to put my iPod in my tankbag, and control it with Apple's wired remote. That meant unhooking things at stops (and then forgetting to hook up again ), and the chance that wind or vibration could jostle a connection. This setup is WAY better. Now my iPod goes in the tank bag only if it needs recharging on the road.

I may try one of these set-ups soon. Heard good things about the ER-6 and currently have the Shure earplugs that might work ok. Will try them with my Ipod Shuffle first to see how loud they are and if the wind noise will be a problem.

Am also interested in outside speakers, if a system like that would work on the GS. Something that you could plug your ipod right into and blast the music out the speakers.
