Well, I barely use them and I already replaced one. The other one seems to have early symptoms of the first one I replaced. $35 per light fixture. Other than that they are great. They dramatically brighten the short field of view. I leave them on with on comming cars and no one flashed me yet. They do not project way down the road. Install was a bit of a project, but this site has a step by step, http://www.r1200gs.info/howto/lights-1.html I didn't even look at the directions (German Maybe).

I just went back over the install. I did not file, cut, or manipulate the mounting like the gentleman in the how to. Maybe the mounting hardware didn't work for him, but it was fine for my install.

sorry, Hooked them up to the battery the black wire went to the extra plug in my dash. Was wondering if the wire should go somewhere else? Lights are mounted as instructed. The switch does not stay it just rocks, when pushed, and does not light up.

Page 3 of the howto at http://www.r1200gs.info/howto/lights-3.html show the switch tapping off of the accessory socket. If the socket is wired direct to the battery it just means that you can turn the lights on (when hooked up correctly) without having the ignition turned on.
If you are having problems you might want to double check all of your connections and then give the folks at BMW Scruz a call They've an 800 number listed in their web site. // marc |
