Default Tall GSA Riders - Touratech Windscreen Spoiler???

I'm wondering if there are any tall GS Adventure riders out there that have tried the Touratech Windscreen Spoiler (either the locking or non-locking version).

Here's a link to the locking version: http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/sh...669AUoo2251BA7

It's a bit pricey, but if it minimizes some of the buffeting, it would be worth it. If you have used it, let me know what you think. Is the angle adjustable? Also, if you could include how tall you are, that would be great. I'm 6' 4", so it's entirely possible this accessory will be a waste of time for me.

Thanks for your help!

I don't know if my experience will be any help or not. First of all, it is not adjustable. It is either on or off.

Now I'm about 6' but I run with a cut down windshield which gives me cleaner air, reducing the turbulence around my helmet by moving it to my chest. The cut down windshield looks like this:

This is great in the summer, but is a bit chilly in the winter. It also makes long freeway stretches a bit tiring. The Touratech spoiler on top of my cut down windshield helps in those two areas. It looks like this:

The interesting thing is that I think the short screen plus spoiler is better with regards to buffeting than the original screen. This is how it looks with me on the bike, windshield in its lowest position (which gives me the best ride).

Now that it's getting hot, again, the spoiler lives in my tank bag, applied only for long stretches of freeway -- which I usually try to avoid. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info Marc. I had a K1200S for a while and loved the clean air for the quieter ride due to the shorter windshield. Unfortunately, I have some neck issues and the wind force involved when riding at higher speeds got really tiring after a while. I too, avoid the freeways when I can, but I do have a 35 mile commute to deal with on them. It's nice for that to be a relaxing commute. I guess that while the buffeting is somewhat annoying, I suppose I'd rather deal with it than fight the force of the wind. I also do quite a bit of riding at night due to my work hours, so the extra wind protection for the cooler night temperatures is helpful, particularly during the colder months.

I must say that the the job you did cutting your windscreen down looks fantastic and it sounds like you've worked out a great system for yourself.

Thanks again!

Dave

I am also at 6"4'. Installed the TT spoiler ...IMHO ..it worked for me. Less buffet in full up poistion. Have not tried it in any other position! This is on an '08 GSA stock windscreen.

Brought the TT on a cross country trip last summer. 6'4" here. I thought the benefits were marginal, and I ended up looking through it at times. Didn't help with cross winds, and when taken off left it a slight cut on the screen.

Decided since I wear ear plugs and liked the cleaner looks, plus not looking through it, took it off.

While pausing in Kansas...
