Default Tyres Heidenau

Has any one tried the Heidenau K76 tyres out of Germany on the 1200 GS.
They are well priced in Australia $142 front and $175 rear fitted.

I have done 14000 km on the rear with the Tourance and has about 4000 more in it.
The front still has heaps , approximately 50 % worn .
They have handled real well alltough I only get up to about 140 kph. Seem very sure footed but not so good on real soft stuff so far.

We had a few bad tyres in a batch sold in South Africa.
Two riders in my Club on GSA's had tread de-lamination on tyres with less than 1 000kms.
Importer refunded the purchase price without quibble.
Other riders seem to have had good results, though.

Default Tyres Heidenau

i think thats not bad going for a front wheel drive car and the passats no light weight.
you could well get 12k on brand make tyres but you would also probably pay not far off double the price

On this board Tourance is a type of tire, not a car. Linky.

Thumbs down Heidenau USA

I read about the Heidenau in the latest BMW magazine and got excited about putting them on my GS just in time for my summer trip to the mountains camping and fly fishing. Unfortunately, they seem to have a pitiful distributor network in the US. I spoke to two "scooter" shops and I mean "scooter" shops who were listed on the Heidenau website who said thy had talked to the Heidenau folks but hadn't become affiliated yet were listed anyway, much to their surprise. No one can seem to get the tires and the company is evidently difficult to deal with on the dealer end. I think that until the Heidenau folks get their act together and prove they can deliver I'll stay with my Continentals.
