Hello GS rider
Here in Denmark, Scandinavia, it is now autumn, but still the weather allows motocycle riding. I primerly ride on-road, and my ridingstyle is sporty. My 2005 R1200GS came originally with Michelin Anakee Tyres. After 15,633 km (We use the metric system here in Europe), and after a short testride on a pair of Metzler Tourance, I wanted to try the new Bridgestone BattleWing 501/501. My impression after 1,500 km ride is absolutly positive. Compaired with the other tires I have tried, they have a better grip and contact feeling with the road. The stifness of the tyres allows a more sporty driving style, and the tyres are stabile both on dry and wet asphalt. The biggest Europain motocycle magasin "German Motorrad" are also very satisfyed with the Battlewings. Your sincerly Lars Mikkelsen |

Hi, here in the UK I hve been reccommended to the Bridgestone Battleaxe BT020's. These are the dual compund tyre that is designed for road riding and inparticular long distance touring/commuting.
I have read many very favourable reports on these tyres and will be trying them next myself. Cheers Paul |

I've got a pair on the GS now, and they feel good, no idea how they compare wear wise with previous Tourances, but the certainly give me confidence in the handling.

I have them on my GS. They grip great on the street, not so much on the dirt but OK. I intend on getting a new set as soon as these wear out. 5000 miles so far on them and they look to be about 40-50% worn. Good tire...

My 07GSA came with Battlewings. Not bad, but only lasted 6K miles.............and I'm very easy on tires. Switched to Tourances and feel more confident in the rain and twisties.....and told I should expect over 12K miles of safe service.

I just bought a 2007 that came with the Battlewings. I have only done a 20-mile test-ride on a GS equipped with a different tire so I can't compare, but I like these tires so far. I primarily ride on-road (I got a GS for the ergos rather than for the dual-sport thing), so dirt is not an issue as yet...but I imagine I'll try it sooner or later.

I just ordered my second set of Battlewings after 5600 miles. The rear had a few hundred left at best, and the front wasn't too far behind. They didn't give me the confidence that the Z-6's did on my GT, but I liked 'em enough to stay with them. I was going to get the Tourances, but at the last minute changed my mind and stayed with these.
